I had my last botanical illustration class today so I decided to challenge myself: pinecones. PINECONES.
What I’ve loved most about this class was how the instructor was able to effectively translate the theory of the math into applicable drawing technique. It’s systems thinking: how to build yourself logical guidelines that you fill in with detail and personality, texture and shade. Reality.
I’ve been thinking a lot about systems. Creating a reliable system to complete the fabric wallpaper was… challenging but super satisfying. Drawing is not something I spend a lot of time on, normally. This was new way to approach the exercise that kept my brain interested while letting my body relax into the meditation of the drawing.
Great class. Thanks, Kimberly!
